What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
I enjoy the sense of satisfaction that arise when students are able to develop new insights into problems after accepting my advice. As a tutor, I can challenge myself with difficult questions which makes me feel accomplished. It is also an ideal opportunity for me to recall past memories of learning as I revisit topics and questions.
My Strengths as Tutor
My strengths as a tutor includes being patient and enjoying working with younger children, this has been developed through me living with an infant. I am able to use different techniques whilst teaching, such as drawing diagrams to communicate information. Additionally I am able to solve a broad range of questions as demonstrated through my ideal HSC marks. I studied up to Ext 2 Maths in high school and am confident with teaching up to Ext 1 Maths. ATAR:98.90(All-rounder)
Most important things I can do for a student
I believe that a good tutor can not only write out the solutions for students but also allow them to understand every process involved in creating the solution, such that they will be able to answer similar questions next time by themselves. A tutor can also communicate their experiences and the techniques used for effective studying. Tutors should also identify a student's strengths and weaknesses and motivate them to improve.
