The most important thing a tutor can do for students is give them time and attention that they simply cannot receive in class. It gives the student the objective support and help they need to succeed in the subject as well as gives the student the confidence within themselves to go into tests and exams and succeed. My strength comes in how…

Pretty much answered this in the first question, but essentially, to help the student to develop the skills, methods and confidence to go to the next level in their academic journey. As I am very familiar and comfortable with the subject matter, I am able to quickly break it down and explain it in simple terms to the student. Moreover, most times,…

Give them the correct facts and skills which they can use when the real time arrives. They should teach them to apply the concepts and not just mug up for the time being. A tutor should be able to remove all the big or small doubts that the student has. He can motivate student to excel in his respective subject and always keep him cheerful to work…

I think the most important thing that tutor can do is to build confidence in student to solve any kind of problem in the exam. This can be only done when they are through with the formulas, concepts and it's applications. I think making clear understanding about the concepts is my strength as a tutor. I believe if anyone clearly knows the concepts…

The most important thing a tutor can do is build confidence, not just improve grades. A great tutor helps students believe in their own ability to learn, even when things feel tough. Its also about creating structure, consistency, and genuine encouragement. At the end of the day, tutoring isn't just about teaching content, its about helping…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is make the student feel supported and understood. Ceating a space where the student feels safe to ask questions and make mistakes is important. A good tutor should listen and adapt their approach based on the student’s needs. Sometimes students already have the ability but they just need someone…

I think the most important thing that a tutor can do is listen. There may be other things going on either at home or at school that is preventing students from reaching their academic goals and the best way to foster a student-tutor relationship is to that you're there for them and that you understand what they're going through, in order to…

It would be empathy, in my opinion. I am aware that there are intelligent people who are easily able to surpass me in knowledge, but I believe that to effectively teach and learn, one must have a sufficient level of empathy. The most important thing a tutor can do is to create an environment in which the pupil feels encouraged to ask questions. Aside from teaching students the concepts required for their study, it's essential for tutors or any teacher for that matter to teach students how to learn. This involves critical thinking, asking the right questions, learning from their mistakes and developing good study habits. Once these are imparted in the students, they are given the tools…

I believe it's crucial for the instructor to first comprehend the student. As a former tutor, I am of the opinion that not every lesson is fully understood by students the first time around. The tutor must make sure to reiterate everything till the student is able to grasp it. As was previously mentioned, a tutor must be on time and patient with…

Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
