100% Motivation and ensuring they feel like they have a support structure whose best interest is to see them succeed. Too many people in my year have lacked motivation to study effectively and as a result, their grades faltered. The school proceeded to threaten to kick them out of their ATAR classes, which only worked to further demoralise them…

A tutor is a magician to the students. He can't do magic but he can do wonders if the chemistry between the tutor. The most important thing is the tutor will be a friend to the student without actually being a friend. The magic lies here. The mentality that I never give up. I was not a very gifted student so I had to work hard to understand…

The most important thing a teacher can do for a student is to be understanding and friendly to them so that they don't hesitate to share their problems. focusing more on the topics they find difficult to understand and being there for them for as long as they need is the best thing a tutor can do. I really fell that a tutor should be a friend and not like a teacher so that student can easily approach them with their silly doubt without any fear and clear their concept thoroughly. I love to be with children and sometimes be like them and enjoy the life in a simple manner. This really makes a great bond between me and my students due to which…

The most important thing a tutor can do for the student is to encourage him/her to pursue a career in their liking and to empathise with their difficulties and teach them how to overcome them. It is also of utmost importance that a tutor must lower themselves to their understanding to teach a student. Passion to teach and a drive to progress as an…

The most important thing of a tutor in my opinion is to foster genuine passion for learning for the students. I believe that the academic success of any student should be self-paced, and the tutor could only help them if they face a too-challenging problem or cannot come up with a plan to achieve their success. Passion to help students, I…

It’s not just about giving answers, but helping them develop the thinking process to solve problems independently. A good tutor should also create a comfortable environment where students feel safe to ask questions without…

I believe taking the time with each individual student and connecting with them on a personal level is the most important thing as each student is going through different experiences and difficulties. A tutor should be knowledgeable to be able to address all concerns of a student and check when unable to immediately answer a query. Additionally a tutor should be easy to talk to, allowing for untrained conversations between student and tutor. Finally, a tutor should be able to motivate their students, ridding them of the disbelief that they…

I think the important thing for a tutor is to be clear in their concepts so that they can explain and teach their student in a clear and understanding way. As a tutor you need to make sure you test the student so that you know where they stand and then start from there. Evaluating the progress is just as essential. I consider myself a well…

Local Reviews

When we wanted some tailored math support for our daughter and contacted the Ezymath team, we were placed in contact with local tutors in less than 24 hours. The monthly reports can be quite comprehensive too -and the team is always ready to answer any follow up questions you may have. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ezymath to anyone wishing to give their child a boost!

Inside Middle ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 9 student Orlah worked through probability and statistics, including box-and-whisker plots and five-figure summaries.

For Year 10, Samuel reviewed trigonometry by combining bearings with SOHCAHTOA and practiced using sine and cosine rules for non-right triangles.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Ava focused on solving and plotting linear equations as well as calculating gradients and y-intercepts from graphs.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often forgot to bring essential materials, like their textbook, which meant lessons relied on makeshift resources.

In Year 11 Maths, a tutor noted: "He sometimes thinks he knows the material beforehand," leading to missed steps when new concepts were introduced.

One Year 7 student consistently wrote working in cramped spaces during long division; this caused errors that had to be retraced later.

For SAT preparation (Year 12), homework was left incomplete and feedback not acted upon, so gaps in rearranging equations persisted into practice sessions—leaving accuracy and confidence shaky under timed conditions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Middle Park recently saw Monet, a Year 8 student, start tackling her homework without waiting for prompts—something she'd previously hesitated to do.

In Year 10, one student who used to rush through negative number problems took extra time this week and managed arithmetic with negatives much more accurately.

Another high schooler made a noticeable shift: after weeks of uncertainty with bearings and trigonometry, Saskia confidently combined bearings and SOHCAHTOA methods to calculate distances on her own for the first time.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Middle Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Middle Park Primary School.
