Recent Challenges

In Year 10 English, a student hesitated to explain her reasoning aloud—shyness in the first lesson meant errors from entering equations incorrectly into the calculator went unchecked.

In Year 9 Maths, one student repeatedly skipped writing down steps; as noted, "it was difficult for her to go back and find out what went wrong." This made self-correction impossible when answers didn't match.

Meanwhile, a younger student rushed through subtraction tasks with fingers, sometimes adding extra digits or merging circles when drawing groups—resulting in confusion and incorrect totals before he even reached the checking stage.

Recent Achievements

One Minchinbury tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to skip steps in her maths work now writes out each stage and explains her reasoning aloud, especially when tackling factoring questions.

In a recent session with a Year 7 student, the tutor saw her independently connect science concepts to interpreting different types of graphs in maths—something she hadn't attempted before.

Meanwhile, a younger student showed real change by checking his subtraction answers on his own rather than rushing ahead, which led him to catch and correct more mistakes during their worksheet activity.
