What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have always enjoyed being able to assist my peers by patiently explaining concepts covered in class, thus allowing me to appreciate tutoring as it is a practical application of this.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I believe that my strengths as a tutor lie in my effective communication, thus allowing students to quickly grasp onto concepts that they were previously confused by. In order to achieve this, I often utilise personalised methodology for each student by altering my approach in response to both direct and indirect feedback provided by the student themselves. I also believe I am able to construct a positive atmosphere through my patience, hence encouraging students to continue to elaborate upon any inquiries they may have.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I consider flexibility as the most important thing a tutor can do for a student. To elaborate, I believe that is the tutor's responsibility to adapt to the student's unique learning style in order to find the most effective communication style that will allow the student to improve. Flexibility is also vital in constructing personalised lesson plans for each students' unique needs and strengths.

About Shrastha

Experienced Maths Tutor with Classroom Insight

Shrastha is a calm, organised maths tutor who understands how real classrooms work. She has supervised primary students during formal tests and class sessions, managing behaviour, time and instructions with confidence. Her experience marking homework for primary students means she quickly spots common mistakes and knows how to explain concepts in a clear, age-appropriate way. Parents can trust that she not only teaches the content, but also helps students develop good habits for tests, homework and class participation.

Strong Academic Foundation in Maths and Science

With Extension Mathematics and senior-level Chemistry and Biology, this tutor brings a solid academic base to every lesson. She has achieved top results in Chemistry, including a first-place prize in Year 11, and has led a Year 12 chemistry study group, planning sessions and supporting peers with difficult topics. This academic strength allows her to break down complex ideas into simple steps, helping high school students build confidence in maths and science while staying ahead of the curriculum.

Engaging, Curious Approach to Learning

Shrastha brings genuine curiosity to her tutoring, drawing on experiences like the BIOTech Futures Challenge and a national linguistics competition to show students that problem-solving can be fun and creative. In her private tutoring, she has designed lessons around each student’s strengths and weaknesses, adjusting explanations until they β€œclick”. She communicates clearly with both students and parents, providing feedback and setting realistic goals so that progress in maths and related subjects is visible and motivating.
