Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
His learning strategies are still newly developing as he is of such a young age. A rapport has been set up so confidence and knowing it's okay to be wrong is very good as well as pen and paper. Back checking is an area of emphasis as eagerness sometimes gets the best of him but we are progressing well.
Annie generally approaches tutoring with an open attitude and particular enthusiasm for topics of interest. At times Annie struggled to concentrate, which can be greatly attributed to the holidays and is not of major concern. However, I would like to see Annie try and complete her homework tasks, especially for maths, in order to keep up the constant practice.
Some careless errors may be made when he is back checking. He is finding some difficulty in which numbers he should be subbing in and where he is meant to sub them in. Changing the set-up of the working out, making it more orderly may be able to help him reduce chances of careless errors.
Devina is fantastic, I am so happy with Josh's progress to the point where he got the Maths award last week for his efforts!!!
Sean has a true talent for tutoring. James has bonded so well with him already, he looks forward to his sessions and already the class teacher has advised that he is understanding concepts better and may move him up a level in maths! I'm very happy with his progress. We are glad that Sean has picked up on James' difficulties and appreciate his genuine care for James' progress.
I have no doubt it was Nicole's tuition that increased Eden's understanding & test results to an acceptable level (in fact, a little beyond that). Nicole is friendly, approachable, knowledgeable & expresses her ideas in a manner that suited Eden, I felt she was able to adapt her teaching methods to cater to Eden's learning style, which is an incredibly valuable skill as a teacher/tutor.
