Learning biology is cumulative, you can't really skip any steps because the concepts are intricately interconnected. Before you can take on complex concepts and processes, you need to understand the basics. With the help of a tutor most students find it easier to learn how to use drawings and diagrams, read with purpose, utilize lab notes
and use the knowledge in new situations so it really sticks.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Michael has been doing well using new learning strategies. The only things we can still work on are setting out work (general book structure is good) and knowing that it's okay to be wrong and that's how we learn.
Gabriel's attitude is improving. There are days where he works considerably better than the rest of the month but for the most part our lessons are increasingly productive. This is the area Gabriel needs to work on the most. His effort when it comes to task completion and study is far below where it needs to be if he wants to succeed in maths. I feel this has been covered above.
Claire appears to struggle with things like solving simple equations and long multiplication. We have looked at these and I will continue to work on them with her in the coming weeks. Claire struggled with matrix multiplication, ratios, scale factors and similar triangles. We will make our way through these topics in the next few weeks.

We have had two tutor sessions with Rhys and thus far we have been very happy with everything and more importantly Stewart is quite comfortable with Rhys and is finding the sessions helpful.
The tutoring is going well. Liana is settling in well and she finds Jacques explains things in a way she can understand.
Zoe's coaching with Lydia was exactly what we needed and Lydia enjoyed working with her. She is an asset to your coaching team.
