The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
A key learning strategy that we have only recently focused on addressing more thoroughly was lateral thinking. After finishing work that is perhaps more relevant to her syllabus, Jasmine was presented with a variety of puzzles requiring either lateral or logical thinking, or a combination of both. Jasmine developed skills in “thinking outside the box†as well as solving puzzles that require a more hands-on approach (e.g. using pencils to form certain shapes).
Good attitude this year and very keen specially to get back in the advanced class. Satisfactory effort but a little bit more effort would definitely help Marnus meet the score he is aiming for. Marnus' work habits have improved from last year and has been doing his homework regularly which is good.
Ethan's main gaps appear to be centred around the visual / geometric components of maths including the mapping of functions, however, this is a skill that tends to be developed throughout the extension 1 maths course as it is often difficult to grasp and visualise at first. Ethan's main problem with maths appears to be in simply remembering all the different processes required for each type of question, but this can be improved with repetitive practice.

Keira is very happy with Mandy and they seem to be working well together. Mandy is lovely and very keen and organised. I am sure we will continue to see an improvement with Keira's results.
The tutoring with Shamir has been great so far. Tyler is very happy with him and we can only look forward to an increase in Tyler's results through hard work and dedication. Shamir appears very dedicated to helping Tyler, which really shows through. We are very happy with him so far.
Things are going well. He is very well organised and she is happy with him so we haven't lost the momentum that was started with Harriet.
