Local Reviews

In a very short space of time Anand has helped my daughter feel more confident with her math work. She feels he explains things very well, and able to grasp concepts better than when learning in the classroom. Thank you, only wish we had looked into tutoring a little sooner.

Inside ZeerustTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Zane worked on addition and subtraction strategies, including bridging to 10 and using patterns, as well as practising near doubles for mental calculation.

In Year 9, Lily focused on solving linear equations and understanding their graphs, tackling word problems and using visual representations to reinforce the connections.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Grace developed skills in data analysis by drawing boxplots with a CAS calculator, interpreting outliers using IQRs, and performing full regression analyses including scatterplots, trendlines, coefficients of determination, and residual calculations.

Recent Challenges

A Year 11 student in Specialist Maths skipped key steps when setting out long division and matrix questions, with a tutor noting, "he dropped the next digit before subtracting," making it harder for teachers to track his logic.

In Year 10 trigonometry revision, one student avoided using the unit circle as a guide and left several test practice questions unfinished—anxiety seemed to block full engagement.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 learner's homework was only partly attempted last week, which meant basic addition strategies from class weren't reinforced at home; confusion lingered into the next session.

Recent Achievements

A Zeerust tutor recently noticed Savannah's breakthrough with long division—she started out unsure, often hesitating at each step, but by the end of their session she was working through problems almost entirely on her own and correctly writing remainders as fractions.

In a high school session, Sienna showed new independence using her CAS calculator: not only could she create scatterplots and fit trendlines without help, but she also explained how to interpret coefficients of determination for her assignment.

Meanwhile, Ava, who struggled with circular functions at first, finished the lesson confidently solving tan function examples herself.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Zeerust Primary School.
