A tutor can help a student develop the necessary skills,by which he can learn and understand by himself. Also, he can help identify the students weaknesses and provide alternatives by which the student can easily learn. I have patience and understanding. I also have excellent writing skills. Moreover, I like challenges and I love it when I can…

Chemistry Tutor Kearneys Spring, QLD
Not only is knowing the content extremely important, but the way tutors teach the content is more important. Every student has their own needs, and a chemistry tutor must recognise that some teaching strategies might work for some but not work for others. My strengths is my teaching style. I believe my ability to connect with the student allows…

Chemistry Tutor Darling Heights, QLD
In my opinion, the most important thing about tutoring is creating rapport with the student. Because when the student likes you, he/she begins to trust you. And when you gain their trust, they would listen to what you are saying then they would learn what you are tutoring. As a tutor, my strength is I have a really deep foundation of Mathematics…

Inside Top CampTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Sam focused on word problems involving rates and ratios, as well as dividing fractions by whole numbers using targeted exercises.

For Year 10, Jamie practised quadratic functions with the completing the square method and reviewed key concepts from past exam papers.

Meanwhile, senior student Kagan tackled balancing redox reactions in Chemistry and explored logarithmic functions in Maths Methods, working through challenging example questions for deeper understanding.

Recent Challenges

In Year 7, one student struggled with completing any assigned homework, which left them less prepared for new topics in class ("Did not do any homework assigned").

A Year 11 student was still learning how to structure assignments and use assessment criteria, as noted: "needs some guidance in terms of the structure to use."

In a Year 8 lesson, frequent distraction made it hard to stay on task; excitement led to rushed working and avoidable mistakes.

For a Year 5 learner, basic multiplication tables were not secure—so even straightforward problems became time-consuming and frustrating.

Recent Achievements

A Top Camp tutor noticed one Year 10 student who used to make frequent careless mistakes is now catching them independently, staying focused through each step of his calculations.

In Year 12 Chemistry, Tom has shifted from just following worked examples to confidently discussing the limitations of different models and seeking teacher feedback on assignments—something he hadn't done before.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who once rushed through her times tables is now tackling them more carefully and even completed all her homework without reminders this week.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library or at your child's school (with permission), like Highlands Christian College.
