What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
In my opinion, tutoring is one of the most rewarding careers as you have the opportunity to make close connections with your students and watch them progress throughout the year. I love being able to share my knowledge with students: my own tricks and tips, memorisation strategies and ways of solving questions.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my main strengths is that I myself am a recent high school graduate, and so I’m familiar with the education system and the experiences that the students will be going through. It allows me to teach them with their mindsets in mind, and empathise with them on a more personal level. Furthermore, I believe that I’m a very patient person which is essential in being a tutor. It means that when a student doesn’t understand something that I’ve taught or a specific question, I’m willing to teach them over and over again using different methods and approaches until it sticks for them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe that it’s essential that the tutor can not only offer unique approaches to questions that other resources such as their school doesn’t provide, and I think it’s important that the tutor gives each student individual attention to ensure every student is benefiting to the highest ability. In a seperate manner, I think it’s important that a tutor not only provided academic support, but also guidance in the way of maintaining the students’ enthusiasm and enjoyment for learning in the classroom. A tutor should never make students feel discouraged, but should instead push them to achieve.
