What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
When someone is confused or unsure about something that their teacherβ has explained, and showing a different way of looking at it that helps them to understand. It allows the student to realise they can do this I just need it explained a bit more or a bit differently.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
As said above, I like to try explain things to students in a way that their teacher might not have. I am also good at making conversation and getting along well with students. My first couple of years at uni have helped understand concepts from year 12 better than when I was in year 12. I have a genuine interest in my students and want them to achieve their goals.
Most important things I can do for a student π
Help them to understand the content, walk them through questions, give them your own questions you think are worth doing, give general advice about school rather than just subject specific advice. Take time out of your day to help with questions outside of the tutorials and have them prepared for the next tute.
