his reasoning seems to be good. he can recognise what to do and what values he's finding for each question and can mostly remember how to reach a solution. his working is well-documented and he uses pen-to-paper well, also when asking questions to reconsolidate his knowledge, he can identify what to do next and why. overall he did really well on the questions i assigned to him based off his skill level and what results he wants to achieve in year 12

like in the tutoring description, he does lack some confidence when answering questions and progressing with the question. he also struggles with basic algebra, which causes him to make a few mistakes solving or rearranging for certain values, and it'd be beneficial to get that practice in because then he will improve a lot

the addition and subtraction was done well, she was stressing for the first few questions which made her make a few errors but after the initial worry, each question was done quickly and she completed 21 questions within 5 minutes which was a good start. her drawing of time was also good since she consistently got them correct, but the minute and hour hands can be more obvious, as is the minute hand placement.

she currently struggles with time operations, both with figuring out minutes passed using a before and after time, and calculating the final time using an initial time and minutes passed. the addition was also slow since it was done digitally, which can be improved on by printing the worksheet out. next lesson will focus on unit conversion, or even revisiting time.

her subtraction is faster and done correctly most times, which is a big improvement to her first few lessons, she is also learning quickly how to solve 2-digit multiplication with a single digit number, making few mistakes, but it can definitely be revisited earlier in the lesson (doing the hard content first and then doing easy work afterwards to compensate for tiredness)

she often needs to check her reasoning especially after a long lesson, she benefits a lot from small breaks which can be changed to become more frequent, since without breaks she gets tired and makes a lot of mistakes. her memorisation of addition and subtraction can also be improved since she still counts with her hands for some questions that can be done in her head (i.e 7-6). next lesson should be a focus on improving her mental math and timing her to complete 2-digit addition and subtraction, which can be done in the first 10 minutes of the lesson.

she's grasped the knowledge really well, she can apply the trig formulas to SF questions and answer them and write her working, checking each step to make sure its correct. she also applies formulas well to CF questions, especially when getting stuck with a specific question which actually required two steps to solve. she asked good questions as well as to why we used certain formulas and understood sine rule angle ambiguity well.

she still lacks some confidence since i've only taught her new content, in which she was reluctant to answer even though she was correct and taking justified steps to answer a question. this is slightly unrelated to math methods but her algebra needs work, specifically rearranging and transforming questions since its a good skill to have to save time and prevent errors when calculating answers, which we can cover in a mini lesson
