Raeed with some help was able to correctly compute multiplications between two double digit numbers. He understood the steps needed to calculate the answer, albeit he needed some reminders of the steps when he answered the question.
As mentioned Raeed needed a few reminders on the steps when he was multiplying two double digit numbers. A simple remark such as "you're forgetting something" was enough to remind him. In the previous lesson Raeed was able to do multiplications between a single and double digit number on his own, however when he needed to do it again when multiplying two double digit numbers he was initially unable to do it. A bit of this was due to a lack of practice but the majority of the cause stems from an unfimiliarity with the structure of how the question looks i.e He was able to answer the multiplication between a single digit and double digit number but when the single digit number became a double digit number the difference in look made him confused. This was overcome by seperating the two strategies into two completely different techniques rather then trying to show that multiplying two double digit numbers is the same as multiplying a single and double digit number but just repeated. This reliance on how it looks rather then the actual idea of how it works when answering questions needs to be improved on.
After a few examples Raeed was able to quickly grasp how to multiply a two digit number with a single digit number.

Although Raeed was able to do the multiplications he slightly struggled when encountering situations where he had to carry the tens digits. The struggle was caused from tiny mistakes when adding the tens place digit number after multiplying. However through some practice he was able to quickly get over that issue as he recalled strategies from previous lessons. I fear that he will continue to struggle in a similar fashion. However this can be easily solved through consistent practice to build he's foundational skills.

Raeed has shown great improvements in his ability to do both additions and subtractions. More so in addition as he understands the idea of carrying the 1 when doing column addition, allowing him to do additions with big numbers.
Raeed needs to better understand that when doing column addition and subtractions he needs to line up the numbers in the right place. Which he does not do to well causing him to confuse himself as he loses track of what numbers he has already added/subtracted. Raeed also needs to understand the idea of borrowing a 1 when doing column subtraction. He also needs to better understand that unlike additions the order of the numbers are important in subtractions.
Raeed was able to successfully identify the bigger number between two numbers using a column approach.
Raeed was able to successfully identify the bigger number between two numbers using a column approach.
Raeed needs to better understand and verbalize the place values of digits in a number. Although he is able to successfully determine the bigger number between two numbers, he does so using a strategy without properly understanding how and why the strategy works. This is a result of his lack of understanding in place values and how it affects the weight of a number i.e. how it makes a number greater.
