What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I know that I have the capability for someone who doesn\'t understand a concept to learn it from the basics, understand it, and thus enjoy the concept and advance in it. It feels really rewarding when the effort both I and my student put in comes through from the results achieved.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Each person learns differently and not one method fits all. Therefore, a tutor must adapt their teaching style to their student\'s learning ability and make sure that every step of the way of teaching, the student understands. The student needs to learn and build a solid foundation from the basics of a subject to be able to apply it to more advanced concepts. Any knowledge gap the student has, the tutor should pick up and explain them to fill in those gaps. If a student gets an answer/concept wrong, the tutor should ask how they got to that conclusion by going through the steps with the student
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Always receive feedback from the student, ask the student if they are understanding and explain in their own words any concepts we learned at the end of the session. Ask the student any questions they have. Provide notes/examples step by step so that the student can learn and ask any questions about why that is so. Always be there to support the student in general

Patrick is improving in his addition skills although he forgot some steps, so he needs continuous practice. It is really good that he is more engaged and trying to learn and fix his mistakes. He is getting a better understanding of multiplication and subtraction but still needs more practice.
Patrick easily gets confused with the steps involved in addition, subtraction and multiplication. He needs to have lots and lots of practice to be able to consolidate these basic fundamental maths skills effectively.

Patrick understands how to do addition now. It's good that he is cooperative and willing to learn and with practise, he will definitely be able to understand what he gets confused about. He is much better at his 6,7,8 and 9 timetable, but practise should continue.
Patrick gets confused with multiplication in the final steps and needs to keep practising. He also does not know what to do if a smaller number is being subtracted to a larger number. He needs practise to answer more of these types of questions.
Danielle was able to do most of the questions well once it was explained to her and needed little help for some questions she got confused about.
Danielle was able to do most of the questions well once it was explained to her and needed little help for some questions she got confused about.
Danielle still continues to make careless mistakes in which she needs to get the habit put off. She was confused about solving algebra where fractions were involved but eventually, she got it. She needs more practise overall to fully understand algebra.
Patrick understood what he kept doing wrong during addition. He understands how to do multiplication for the most part.
Patrick understood what he kept doing wrong during addition. He understands how to do multiplication for the most part.
During the final working out for multiplication, Patrick gets stuck because he gets confused with how to add numbers. He does not know how to do subtraction if the top number is less than the bottom number. He first did not understand how to do addition properly when the number is more than 10, but I taught him what he was doing wrong and thus, he has learnt from his mistake and understands addition now.
