What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As I have no prior experience I can't necessarily say what I have enjoyed, but I can definitely say what I expect to enjoy. I genuinely feel like you can extract a redeeming feeling within yourself when you can help other people understand concepts they don't. I enjoy being capable of providing assistance to anyone who is confused and I would often do so with my friends when it comes to Uni work or even in the past in VCE. Often I help my 9 year old sister with her school homework. I love to see how I can instil confidence in her by helping her understand concepts rather than spoon feeding her
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my main strength is my communicating abilities. I've been tutored in the past and often they will explain concepts in ways that only very few students can understand. I feel like I am able to effectively communicate information to the extent where it is accessible to anyone, rather than a selective few students. Also I'd say that I'm not a very naturally smart person, instead I had to work very hard to get the grades I received. Because of this I believe I can empathise and help students who don't grasp new concepts as quickly as other people to ensure a level playing field.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them learn content rather than simply absorb it. Often students will try to memorise content and methods of problem solving rather than actually understanding why and how to use those methods. If a tutor can help a student adequately understand their studies, I believe the student will not only be able to more likely effortlessly remember the content but also apply to it to a vast variety of situations, positioning them to be prepared to face any curve balls.
