Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Focus again has been more on the Maths Method content rather than general techniques, but we have been talking aloud through questions, writing down steps as working through questions and back checking when errors occur.
Molly is very open to learning and adapting new techniques taught to her. Molly puts effort particularly for her daily homework, but struggles a bit with some of the questions. She still tries nonetheless. Molly seems to do her homework regularly, but priorities have been taken away from maths in her school and that leaves a gap for more routine lessons.
No comment After the school holidays, she hasn't retained as much of what we did last year as I'd hoped so this month was focused on reinforcing those basics so that I can start teaching her new content. Fractions (memorizing essential/basic fractions) and shapes have been noted as the areas that need work currently.
Jeevan is happy with Posearn's approach and seems to have settled well with the arrangement. He has been on time every lesson and seems to be a dedicated tutor. We are looking forward to seeing progress in Jeevan's Maths grades but for now we are pleased that he has someone he can turn to for help when he encounters problems with homework.
Kyle engaged with Josephine very quickly. He has a delightfully engaging and affirming nature. She opened up immediately and felt more confident to tackle maths problems in the session. Very pleased to have him on board.
Chirag is working really well with both girls, and they are looking forward to his sessions. At the moment we are focussing on building their confidence in tackling math problems and starting to challenge them.
