What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
What I enjoy most about tutoring is sharing my passion for physics, maths, and science with other people. As someone who has always been the designated Λteacher" friend, I often explain complex concepts and assist classmates with their queries, questions, and misunderstandings. Both academically and personally, I have ventured to learn all things STEM, and through tutoring, I can spread that knowledge further. As a tutor, you share the struggle with the student, and it is wonderful to see consistent hard work pay off. It's fulfilling to help students see complex topics more clearly.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I am comfortable and passionate about the subjects I teach. I study Mechanical Engineering, so I am constantly applying the subjects I teach in my own study and career. I prioritise structure and clear outlines, while also remaining adaptable for last mintue plan changes. Sometimes, students do not have the language to pinpoint the exact topics they are confused about, and I am skilled in finding the root cause to assist the student
Most important things I can do for a student π
For a tutor, three key actions are crucial.
1) Creating a safe space where students can openly discuss their struggles and request alternate explanations.
2) Ongoing communication is essential to ensure the curriculum is thoroughly covered and to pinpoint and understand weak areas. This allows students to comfortably ask for repeated or different explanations.
3) Adaptable to feedback, to change. To be able to find new ways to convey information and prepare sessions tailored to each student's unique learning style. This ensures the student's needs are met effectively.
