What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the expression on students' faces when they understand a topic that you have taught them is very rewarding as you can see how proud the student is of themselves for understanding a topic (especially tougher maths concepts).My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are patience and flexibility as I am patient with children who may find certain topics easier or more difficult and adjust according to them. I try and find creative ways to aid in understanding difficult topics and recognising patterns such as rhymes and acrostic poems.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to listen to them. By getting to know a student's personality and how they work generally and how they are feeling to work on the day really helps in moving the class along smoothly whilst also keeping a good rapport with the student.Subjects Tutored 🎓

Spelling sheet - completing megaparagraph. This lesson overall was quite unfocused, which influenced her lack of focus in understanding and attempting maths problems as well as with log book reading comprehension as she was not able to understand what the text was saying which is typically done with high proficiency.

Reading Comprehension was done with adequate concentration during class. She seems to respond to reading comprehension that is more science based than anything else. She was also able to utilise paragraphs in her persuasive writing which was a nice change to see her trying to structure out her arguments. Spelling and vocabulary sheets were also done t o a high degree and it was evident that she has been putting in a lot of effort to actually try and understand the more difficult words that I have given her.
Trying to find ways in which to improve maths skills and engagement with maths skills especially since she has not been completing not, not because she doesn't know how but because she doesn't want to spend her time on tedious problems as such. This may point to the fact that I may need to change my technique when approaching teaching mathematics and trial out ways in which she would learn best.

WORK WAS FINALLY COMPLETED!!! (and previous weeks' work was also attempted which was really nice to see; work was also done to quite a high level and was able to surmount the overwhelming amount of work that was left). Understanding and recalling BODMAS techniques during the lesson also went quite well and she was able to observe the importance of BODMAS in certain equations. Reading comprehension also went quite well today and she seemed to enjoy the science-style reading comprehension a lot more today.
This lesson was pretty well done! Small areas of improvement may include perhaps improved focus when learning new and more difficult concepts in maths such as area and perimeter of composite shapes and learning to treat them more like a challenge and trying to attempt it.

Work also quite incomplete this week...especially maths and writing sheets as well as the spelling and vocabulary sheets. Must ensure that she at least attempts to complete work. We have split up the work into certain days which should occupy her for approximately an hour a day.
