What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to communicate and apply my knowledge in a productive way- that is to say I enjoy being able to use the knowledge I learned in highschool, knowledge that would end up gathering dust, to help someone improve and add to their own knowledge base.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Like with anything else probably my work ethic- I focus on tasks/details and expand upon them, allowing me to break down bigger tasks into smaller task that are more achievable, extrapolate and interpret bits of information to find a big picture, meaning or answer. I believe that this strength of mine can allow students to build problem solving skills of their own, as I guide them through homework questions, exam and essay questions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Be empathetic and patient, I have had many tutors and teachers that have been harsh when I had difficulty in understanding a concept, or had a different approach to a problem; there have also been instances where teachers and tutor overestimated my ability and did not provide me the help I needed. I believe it is essential that a tutor has a realistic understanding of where a student is at when it comes to their learning, and checks in regularly to confirm. A tutor should understand that learning is a long process and that is dependent on each student.
