What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing tangible growth in my students, whether that be improvement in grades, their attitude towards learning, or their emotional growth as they learn virtues such as resilience when overcoming academic challenges. While I see growth in students, I find that I grow myself with the student after forming a relationship with them.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor is my ability to simplify difficult concepts into digestible steps. This allows for the student to be able to understand difficult concepts, but in the case of maths, understand that there are different methods to answering the same question. This enables the student to have a more diverse range of "tools" in their "toolbox" for any type of question.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think listening and guiding student learning is one of the most important aspects of being a tutor. While tutors cannot overstep into the student's personal life to a great extent, students will also have worries, and for the tutor to be able to actively listen and help with some aspects of life is important. I think this comes with forming a relationship that is not based totally based off of how successful the student is, which while is important, I find that the student's willingness and mental health comes first. I think tutors can become life mentors and can teach small lessons as well.
