What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Sharing my knowledge with others who could use help in areas they may struggle with.
Encouraging and being a positive impact on students, and helping them in their pursuit for academic excellence.
The personal connection established between tutor and student, allowing for personalised study plans, and the ability to act as a mentor who can guide younger students to achieve high level of academic success.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Ability to relate and understand frustrations of students when they struggle with questions.
Being thoroughly engaged and attentively listening to the students to better understand how I can best help them in their endeavours.
Personal reflection and acceptance that I as the tutor will not know absolutely everything, and so my accountability to research and get back to students on any questions they may have which I can't initially answer.
My ability to create a safe space for productive learning by being friendly and gentle in my approach, understanding of the students emotions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Accountability. Ensuring if you are unable to answer the student's questions initially, you take initiative to research and get back to them later on.
Involve the student in their learning. Listen carefully to their opinions and incorporate it into how a study plan is formed, rather than the tutor making decisions for the student.
Patience and the ability to be gentle in approaching the student if they are struggling to grasp a concept.
Developing a growth mindset within the student, as I believe a tutor should be someone who supports students to establish a curiosity and love for learning.
