What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the sudden βI finally get it!Γ’β¬ moments the instance someone understands a concept, because it gives me confidence in my teaching abilities. I also love tailoring explanations to different learning styles and making learning feel less stressful and more enjoyable and engaging.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I think my strengths as a tutor is being able to manipulate my words in different ways in order to help students understand complex concepts. By doing this I am able to take different angles on a subject and am able to help the student develop a better understanding of the subject.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A great tutor does more then explain concepts - they help students build confidence, develop problem solving skills and foster a love for learning. Some of the things a tutor can do include:
Building confidence
Students struggle not because they donβt know the answers but because they doubt themselves.
Personalising the approach
Every student learns differently, so adapting explanations and teaching methods to fit their needs is key.
Filling knowledge gaps
Identifying and addressing weak foundational areas helps students build a stronger understanding of the material.

- Nik was able to understand some of the basics of an atom. - He did put in a good effort in trying to answer my questions, however this is something that can be improved further. - Nik asked a few questions occasionally which showed that he was paying attention during some parts of the session.
- Nik needs to work on understanding the basic structure of an atom and spend time outside his tutoring session covering these concepts. - He also needs to practice focusing on his work and try not to get distracted about things happening around him. - Needs to try and understand the questions being asked and give an answer accordingly as he has a tendency to guess his way to the answer without a valid reason to back his answer.
