What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I think tutoring is a unique learning experience not just for the student, but for the teacher as well. You get to meet new people, teach not just your own learning solutions but also learn new techniques from students themselves, which come from a range of backgrounds and experiences. I also love seeing students gain confidence in their abilities, as I know tutoring gave me that same experience when I was back in high school.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe one of my strongest strengths as a tutor is my patience and humble determination. I understand that all students are at different parts of their journey, and that everyone learns concepts at different speeds. I'm open to taking as much necessary time the student needs to understand a topic.
However I also want to make sure my teaching strategies are effective. If I see a student is finding it difficult to learn with one of my learning strategies, I am open to learning more about the strategies that suit them, and tailoring myself to suit their needs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to make sure to be consistent. Life does get busy and overwhelming at times, but keeping a consistent tutoring cycle wether that's weekly or fortnightly helps the student immensely.
I also believe that when you see a student needs extra time or extra help, making sure to communicate incase they need extra classes or materials is extremely important. This can further help them achieve their overall goals, and also make them feel more confident in what they're being taught.
