What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the satisfaction of helping others understand complex topics, seeing that "aha!" moment when a concept finally clicks. It is also very rewarding to see someone believe in themselves more and more, and enthusiastically approach an unfamiliar problem because of their new-found confidence and well-rounded skill set. Being able to adapt explanations to suit someone's unique way of learning is also another aspect of tutoring that I enjoy, keeping the work creative and engaging!
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am patient and adaptable, tailoring my approach to fit each student's unique learning style. With strong communication skills, I work through very thoroughly and break down complex concepts into smaller pieces that are much easier to follow along, ensuring that I actively listen to the students’ needs and adjust my methods as necessary. In general, I believe very strongly in consistency and preach regular practice across all my subjects at school; a key strength I want to pass onto other students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must be patient and stick closely by the students side, helping them to build self confidence and believe in their own abilities. This is just as crucial as understanding the material. A tutor must also encourage critical thinking and deep understanding, not just memorising for the sake of a test. Developing a true understanding of the concepts will take a student much further than just memorising an answer. Most importantly, a tutor must instil effective study habits that set up the student for long-term success even beyond high school.
