What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to support students in moments of uncertainty and watch their confidence grow over time. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the moment something clicks for them. I also love creating a safe and encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing themselves.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strengths are patience, adaptability, and empathy. I always try to tailor my explanations based on how each student learns best, especially for those learning in their second language. Because I’ve been in their shoes, I can relate to their challenges and guide them in a way that makes them feel seen and supported.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should build trust, listen actively, and empower the student to believe in their abilities. Beyond just improving academic performance, I think it’s important to help students develop a growth mindset, feel more in control of their learning, and know that it’s okay to make mistakes

She showed strong understanding across Operations, Marketing, and HR, confidently explaining key terms and strategies. She could connect topics across the four business areas. Her engagement was high throughout the session, and she seemed well-prepared for the exam, especially in applying examples and definitions accurately.
She was still slightly unsure about the gearing ratio when revising the Finance section, so I recommended that she review before the exam. Spending a few minutes revising key financial ratios and formulae tonight will strengthen her confidence. Overall, she seems ready and capable, with only gaps in Finance.

She demonstrated understanding of key terms and could explain concepts such as economies of scale and global sourcing in her own words. She also followed along attentively during the revision of influences on operations and maintained focus for most of the class.
She still needs to strengthen her ability to analyse and evaluate operations strategies rather than just describe them. especially practising how to apply these concepts to exam-style questions.

Usually i will teach her the definition of the key concepts and its pros and cons but this class, i asked her to come up with her own pros and cons of the concept to maintain engagement and i think it went well rather than just me talking the entire class. i also had a 5min quick break during the class to make sure she is focused and not bored during the entire 120 min lesson
I believe that if she is able to output the content she understands into the essay style questions and effectively convert her knowledge into marks she is at a strong position. I hope she doesn't lose motivation and keep up her work, although i understand she has other subject papers before her business paper on the 29th i told her to atleast spend a couple of minutes to maybe reread her notes everyday.

CSR is a very important concept in the business course, its being mentioned in all the different departments and i have been stressing the importence to her as its likely that itll be asked in the exam. She seems to have a better understanding of it, but she still have to be able to use its concept and be able to analyse and evaluate in exam questions.
She seemed to feel tired especially the last 15min. Which i understand as the class is 2 hours long. I will make sure for her next class there will be a 5 min break, there are lots more to cover in terms of content so i will try and fit everything while making sure shes stayed focused during the class.
