What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is that I'm able to make a real difference in a persons academic journey. I love seeing my students gain confidence in themselves and achieve goals they once found challenging. Explaining complex topics in a simple way and seeing the moment it "clicks" for them is really rewarding to me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths are that I'm patient, clear at communicating and I achieved a band 6 in both advanced maths and business studies, giving me the expertise to be able to tutor these subjects. To me these are important aspects of being a tutor because it allows me to stay calm and support students if they are struggling and allows me to get points across in a clear and simple way for them to understand.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is build confidence and spark an interest for learning. I would do this by encouraging a growth mindset and applying school concepts to the real world to show students that school learning does relate to the real world and doesn't just remain in the books. This is something I personally found helpful during my HSC, which is why I often use it with my students as it motivates them and encourages them to see challenges as opportunities to grow, rather than just obstacles.
