What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love the process of helping students understand concepts that they were not confident in during class. The growth and progress over multiple sessions warms my heart. Meeting young people and becoming a rolemodel and mentor for those especially going through VCE is really valuable.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Building a relationship with students is a strength of mine and being able to get shy or hesitant students to open up. I am great at breaking down concepts into steps across Math, English or Economics which students can more easily follow and feel confident. My tutoring sessions are also quite light-hearted and I try to include easy analogies or examples and let the student brainstorm or answer questions alongside my explainations rather than sessions becoming lectures.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Tutors play an important role in supporting student learning. I found my tutors very valuable as approachable mentor figures to ask questions and not feel judgement. I think the regularity of sessions also acts as a form or accountability for homework and school attendence.
