What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy watching students gain confidence as they begin to understand concepts that once seemed impossible. Seeing their 'aha' moment is incredibly rewarding. I love knowing that Iβm having a tangible impact on someoneβs academic journey, and Iβm helping them succeed not just in one class but in building skills for the future.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths include developing learning content and teaching complex concepts in digestible forms. At my previous tutoring position, I developed curriculum and practice problems for the Mathematics section of the SAT. By providing regular practice tests, I was able to track student progress, increase exam preparation, and tailor my teaching content. My strength in teaching difficult mathematics consists of breaking down problems step by step and explaining to students the "why" not just the "how" of a math question, allowing students to gain a deeper understanding of math concepts.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I prioritize understanding each student's best learning style and personal strengths and weaknesses. I aim to not only increase students' scores and math skills but also shape them into stronger learners, helping them continue to progress outside of tutoring. This means I teach problem solving and self-learning methods, so they feel encouraged to ask more questions and approach intimidating problems on their own.
