What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Personally, I enjoy the intrinsic reward and fulfillment associated with tutoring-the satisfaction of seeing my students experience tangible day-to-day improvements in their learning, such as in my private tutoring or current Vinnies volunteer tutoring role, is ultimately what motivates me to keep working as hard as I can every day when tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my strengths are my approachability and amiability with children, which acts as a foundation for me to explain new concepts in a way where students feel engaged, motivated, and don't feel alienated or frustrated if they initially have learning curves-after all, that too is part of the learning process, and exposure and having setbacks initially is the only way you can succeed in your ultimate learning journey.
Moreover, my empathy and understanding of a student's rough expected knowledge will help in explaining concepts to students in a way in which they would understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to frequently ask them what additional support they can provide the students, be it extra worksheets, resources or additional explanation sessions, and provide it accordingly, as each student has different interests and needs.
Moreover, the simple things like preparing lesson plans well in advance and considering HOW your group of students learns is also very important to have in mind when designing them.
Ultimately, it's about accounting for the individual's interests and needs, as each person learns differently.
