I am an astrophysics student with a background in maths and physics. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to teach them to learn on their own. Although the 1-2 hours per week that a tutor spends with a student is incredibly important, the student needs to learn how to study and work on their own in order to be successful in their studies. By taking a student through a task step by step, you are enabling them to repeat the task on their own and continue studying in their own time.
