What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find that when I start to understand a subject well, I tend to actually enjoy learning well and I really like when students (though I've only taught informally) have that moment of realisation or understanding on a topic that makes them understand everything else and find that the process or topic is actually really interesting.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a recent student myself, I am very empathetic to the feelings of struggling in a subject or not doing as well as one would hope. I would use that empathy to better help the student by knowing their perspective. I am also very organized and detail-oriented, and I feel that I would teach topics in an organized manner so that the students can better link the topics into a whole subject rather than disjointed facts and formulas.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think a tutor needs the ability to see things from another person's perspective as many tend to forget that the student may not have all the background knowledge that may seem like common sense to most, leading to a lot of confusion and frustration on both ends. I think a tutor also needs to be ready to get creative as students, especially younger students, tend to learn in different ways and the tutor needs to be ready to find a different approach if one method or explanation isn't working.
