What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to empower students by helping them build confidence in complex topics. During my time as an Academic Adviser at Southern Cross University, I supported students in engineering governance, stakeholder engagement, project tendering, and planning and compliance—subjects that can be quite technical and overwhelming. I found it incredibly rewarding to break these concepts down in ways that made them accessible and relevant to each student’s goals. Seeing their progress and growing self-assurance is what drives my passion for tutoring.

My strengths as a tutor include clear communication, analytical thinking, and the ability to simplify complex ideas. With 5+ years of experience in analytics, along with prior tutoring at SCU, I’m skilled at guiding students through technical subjects. My strong mathematical foundation—built through engineering studies covering calculus, algebra, statistics, physics, economics, and IT—is reinforced by a Master of Science in Engineering, where I used econometrics for thesis research. I’m currently pursuing my second master’s at UWA and hold a PTE Academic score of 89.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important things a tutor can do are to create a supportive learning environment, adapt to each student’s learning style, and promote independent thinking. In my previous tutoring role, I worked to personalise my approach—whether it was through providing structured feedback, helping students plan their assessments, or guiding them through the logic of each assignment. My experience in stakeholder engagement and team leadership reinforces my ability to connect with students and build their confidence while supporting them academically.
