What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing the student grow over time. Seeing students feel fulfilled after achieving a goal in the end is a feeling that can only be felt after putting in the effort. It's rewarding to see students learning, gaining knowledge, and developing new skills. I also enjoy the connection and seeing how every student learns differently, so I have to try to create a personal teaching style for each student. I feel that tutoring should not be about just teaching, but also ensuring the students can enjoy the process of learning and empowering them for their future too.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strengths as a tutor are communication, adaptability, patience, and being a student myself. I'm able to break down complex ideas/problems into clear, simple steps and explain how each component fits with each other, which builds it up into the larger problem. I try to create a safe space for students to understand and be able to admit if they don't know something. Being a student myself, I still remember the feeling of struggle and sometimes being afraid to ask for help. I don't want any of the students to feel that way, because asking for help is one of the best learning solutions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build confidence, create a supportive environment, and help students learn how to learn. I want my students to know that the power of learning is ultimately in their hands. While I am here to guide and help them learn, one of the questions I hear often and ask myself is "How do I learn this?". Sometimes students struggle not because they don't understand, it's they're not sure how to develop their understanding further and where to go next. Being able to learn for themselves is the ultimate goal that I want to give to my students.
