What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy helping students build confidence in math by explaining concepts in a clear and relatable way. Having studied under the ICSE and State Board systems, I understand how challenging math can feel, and I find it rewarding to guide students through that. Seeing a student go from confusion to understanding and even enjoyment is the most fulfilling part of tutoring for me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths as a tutor is being able to explain difficult concepts using simple, relatable examples. I was fortunate to have a great math tutor from Year 1 to Year 10 who often used paper visuals, board work, or real-life examples to help us understand abstract ideas. That experience shaped my own teaching style. I now focus on helping students visualize problems and build intuition, especially if they're struggling. I also try to be patient and supportive, just as he was, so students feel confident to ask questions and learn at their own pace.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, create a safe space to ask questions, and make learning feel approachable. It’s not just about teaching the steps to solve a problem, but helping the student truly understand the concept behind it. A good tutor should also be patient, adaptable, and able to explain ideas in different ways depending on how the student learns best.
