What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Even though I don’t have commercial experience, when I helped friends study for the Biology HSC, my favourite part of teaching was seeing people finally get a difficult concept! It is rewarding to utilise a variety of tools and practice questions and help my friends grow significantly in their confidence of biology knowledge and skills. For example, I found that a lot of my peers rely on analogies to explain and memorise biological process, turning otherwise challenging topics into a fun and engaging learning opportunity!My Strengths as Tutor 💪
In regards to my strongest subjects to teach, I am best at biology, but I am also excited for the opportunity to teach maths! I am approachable, friendly and have genuine commitment to the progress of students. My passion and love of learning is always growing, particularly this year and I believe that this genuine interest in the content I teach is a critical element in engaging students. Furthermore, I am a highly resilient person; I will never give up on a student’s progress and will be a source on encouragement for times where their school goals feel out of reach.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
In my eyes, the best tutor will: 1) Identify the student’s academic goals and work together to create an effectively and realistic plan. 2) Build engaging lessons that truely focus on the students greatest concerns/weakest areas so they feel confident to tackle any related question the HSC may throw at them! 3) Offer support outside of tutoring hours, particularly during exam blocks. 4) Seek out feedback and adapt! *Side note - I did Maths Advanced in the HSC, but I just looked at the Standard Syllabus as well and I believe I would be able to teach this content.
