What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most is finding different ways to explain the same concept until something finally clicks for a student, that "aha" moment where it all makes sense. I struggled in school myself until I figured out how I learn best, and that shift changed everything for me. Now I get real satisfaction from helping students find their own version of that moment.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strength as a tutor is empowering and encouraging students while tailoring my teaching methods to each individual. No two students learn the same way, so I take the time to figure out what actually clicks for each person, whether that's working through examples, breaking things into smaller steps, or connecting a concept to something they already understand. Alongside that, I focus on building confidence, making sure students feel supported rather than judged, so they're willing to try, get things wrong, and keep going until it makes sense.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I like finding different ways to explain the same concept until something clicks, because not every student learns the same way. I struggled in school myself until I figured out how I learn best, and that shift changed everything for me. Now I love helping students find their own version of that moment, the one where a concept finally makes sense and they realise they could've done it all along.

About Tafara
Coaching / Teaching Experience Across Ages
With experience in administration and copywriting, I have honed excellent communication and organisational abilities, crucial traits for effective tutoring. I am adept at tailoring explanations for different learning styles and maintaining clear lines of communication with both students and parents. My reliable nature ensures that sessions are well-structured and goals are consistently met, providing families with confidence in their child's academic support.
Engaging Interests That Inspire Learning
Beyond academics, my passion for sports, fitness, and music shines through my involvement in school band performances and local sports teams. These experiences not only demonstrate my ability to work under pressure but also show how I connect with students over shared interests. By drawing on these activities, I foster a relatable and engaging atmosphere during sessions, helping students feel comfortable and motivated to achieve their best.
Strong Communication and Organisational Skills
I bring a wealth of coaching experience, having guided over 50 clients as a freelance video game coach and taught swim lessons to more than 100 young students. My hands-on work with children through swimming instruction has equipped me with the patience and communication skills needed to break down complex concepts, an approach I seamlessly apply when tutoring Maths and English. I also make it a priority to keep parents informed about their child's progress, ensuring everyone is involved in the learning journey.
