What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being able to help someone - I personally find it extremely rewarding and fun when I’m able to help them solve problems that I’ve gone through before myself by leveraging both my prior and current experience (tutoring experience and current experience working in the data department in the tech industry), I really like the process of being able to interact and learn from people of different backgrounds (I come from a multicultural background myself and speak 5 languages!) as I strongly believe it helps me and my students improve!

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Patience and persistence. I’ve provided 1-on-1 tutoring to a student for the HSC equivalent maths exam a year and a half ago and this student had previously failed all her maths trial exams and came to me 3 months before her actual exam for help - I analysed her previous mistakes and made a study plan for her to follow and tackle only essential topics given the time constraint.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Guiding them and showing them how to learn! Everyone has their own unique way of learning and I’ve come across situations where persuading students to learn something in a certain way doesn’t necessarily work well with individuals, I’ve found that it’s always been helpful to start by first understanding the student and their situation before delving into anything related to teaching since by understanding them we can find better ways of motivating them to succeed.
