About Jiya

Emerging Academic Role Model with Strong English and Maths Background

Jiya is a high-achieving secondary student who studies English, Maths and several analytical subjects, giving her a solid base to support primary and early high school learners. She understands current classroom expectations first-hand and can explain concepts in clear, student-friendly language. Drawing on her own study habits, she helps students break tasks into manageable steps and use simple strategies for problem solving in both English and Maths, building confidence as well as skills.

Confident Communicator and Student Leader

As a student representative council leader, Jiya has experience speaking in front of peers, planning events and working closely with teachers. This has trained her to listen carefully, ask good questions and adapt her communication style to different personalities. She brings this into tutoring by checking understanding often, encouraging shy students to speak up, and helping them organise their ideas for writing, presentations and class participation.

Organised, Reflective and Relatable Tutor

Jiya’s involvement in a school environmental project, where she helped create a website and present researched ideas, shows her ability to turn information into engaging, real-world tasks. She uses the same approach in tutoring by connecting schoolwork to topics students care about. With strong organisational skills developed through balancing study, leadership and activities like guitar and reading, she can help students set realistic goals, plan their homework time and develop study routines that actually stick.
