What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

My favourite part of tutoring is being able to share what I know and see it genuinely help someone understand something they were struggling with. It’s really rewarding to watch a student improve a little more each time and gain more confidence, knowing that I played a part in that progress as well.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my strengths is adaptability. I’m able to find new ways to explain a concept when a student doesn’t understand the first approach. Through my experience volunteering in a primary school classroom, I’ve developed patience and creativity, and I’m confident in analysing a student’s needs and learning style to create a plan that genuinely works for them.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student build confidence in themselves and genuinely believe they can understand the subject. It’s also important to make the content engaging so the student feels motivated to keep learning on their own. Above all, a tutor should create a safe, supportive space where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes without judgement.

About Ariel

Classroom-Smart Tutor Who Connects With Students

Ariel brings hands-on classroom experience as a volunteer, where she supported teachers, guided students in their schoolwork and helped run engaging activities. She is used to working with mixed-ability groups, giving extra help to students who need it while keeping everyone involved. Ariel has experience monitoring behaviour kindly but firmly, and she builds warm, respectful relationships with both students and parents. This background helps her create tutoring sessions that feel structured, calm and friendly, just like a well-run classroom.

High-Achieving Student With Strong Communication Skills

Ariel is a high-performing secondary student with consistent academic recognition, including awards for overall excellence and for French in consecutive years. She has also succeeded in a state-level debating program, which means she knows how to explain ideas clearly, think on her feet and build strong arguments – skills she passes on to students in English and humanities. Her success on a selective school entrance exam shows that she understands test strategies and can coach students in exam-style thinking and problem-solving.

Multilingual, Organised and Great With Young Learners

As a bilingual English and Mandarin speaker who also studies French, Ariel understands how language works and can support students with vocabulary, reading and writing from multiple angles. She has coordinated classroom activities and helped prepare school events, so she plans her tutoring sessions carefully, with clear goals and step-by-step tasks. Ariel’s positive mindset and reliability mean parents can count on her to turn up prepared, encourage shy learners and gently build their confidence over time.
