What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Watching students grow in confidence as they grow academically is the most rewarding part of tutoring students. Knowing that I helped provide someone with the tools to succeed and view themselves as smart and capable is the part I enjoy most.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I'm excellent at picking up on students knowledge gaps and addrrssing those weak areas immediately, in order to better prepare them for more complex future content.
I also tailor my teaching style to the specific student I'm working with, and their preferred way of learning, which ensures they can get the most out of the time they have in my tutoring session.
Furthermore, I can empathise with students who struggle to pick up content quickly as I myself have been in incredibly challenging classes and can therefore connect with and help students who are experiencing that same difficulty.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The best mentors I've had were the ones that pushed me to see my own potential the way they easily could, espicially when I came close to giving up. They reignited my passion for the hard subjects through their own love for the content, and through the way they connected concepts to daily life, bringing the subject to life.
I believe a tutor's role is first and foremost to instill a strong love for learning within their students, reminding them of their capacity to excell, and the application of the content being taught to daily life, becuse then teaching the student becomes the easy part.

About Jwana
Confident High-Achiever in Maths, Reading and Spelling
Jwana is a high-performing recent school graduate who has spent several years casually tutoring primary students in maths, reading and spelling. She has been recognised as the top student in both maths and science and has received multiple academic scholarships, so parents can be confident she understands the content deeply. She explains concepts in simple, clear steps and uses examples from everyday life to help younger learners grasp tricky ideas and feel more confident tackling schoolwork.
Proven Youth Leader Who Connects with Students
This tutor brings strong leadership experience from several school captain roles, where she regularly spoke at assemblies, planned events and ran a weekly youth group program for younger students. These experiences mean she is comfortable guiding children, keeping them engaged, and managing different personalities in a calm, friendly way. Jwana knows how to encourage shy students to participate and uses positive reinforcement to help them feel proud of their progress.
Organised, Multilingual and Family-Focused Support
Jwana is highly organised, with excellent time management skills and wide availability that suits busy families. She is multilingual in English, Arabic and Assyrian, which can be especially helpful for students from diverse backgrounds or homes where English is a second language. In her tutoring, she likes to set small, achievable goals each session and track improvements in spelling, reading fluency and maths accuracy, giving parents clear feedback on how their child is progressing.
