I think one of my strengths is my patience. Growing up with three younger siblings, I quickly learnt the valuable gift of patience. This applies to tutoring, as every student learns at a different pace and it's important, as their tutor, that I respect that and go as slowly as they need. Additionally, another strength of mine is my problem-solving. This gift has helped me flourish in my own learning (particularly in maths), and now I can apply it to tutoring as I will be able to problem solve to find new approaches to help students' learning.Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is encourage a love for learning. By providing a safe learning space, it is imperative that a tutor encourages their students to ask questions and to be inquisitive, as this means the students will approach learning with an open mindset rather than a closed one. Furthermore, it is important that a tutor adapts their teaching methods to fit the needs of the student.
