What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is watching the moment when everything clicks in the student's head and the pure joy they exuberate when they realise that they understand the problem now.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my strengths is my patience. Growing up with three younger siblings, I quickly learnt the valuable gift of patience. This applies to tutoring, as every student learns at a different pace and it's important, as their tutor, that I respect that and go as slowly as they need. Additionally, another strength of mine is my problem-solving. This gift has helped me flourish in my own learning (particularly in maths), and now I can apply it to tutoring as I will be able to problem solve to find new approaches to help students' learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is encourage a love for learning. By providing a safe learning space, it is imperative that a tutor encourages their students to ask questions and to be inquisitive, as this means the students will approach learning with an open mindset rather than a closed one. Furthermore, it is important that a tutor adapts their teaching methods to fit the needs of the student. Everyone learns differently, so by changing their teaching methods, a tutor is providing the most individual and authentic space for students to learn.

About Zara
Strong Academic Foundation in Maths, Science and Humanities
Zara brings a standout academic record, with multiple excellence awards in Mathematics, Science, Accounting, STEM and Humanities, as well as a full academic scholarship throughout secondary school. This tutor understands what it takes to perform consistently well across subjects and uses that insight to guide students through tricky concepts step by step. Zara is particularly well suited to helping primary and lower high school students build solid skills and confidence in Maths and English-related subjects.
Real-World Problem Solving and Study Skills
Through a competitive biotech challenge program, Zara has practised data analysis, extensive research and real-world problem solving, including exploring how 3D printing can be used in medical contexts. She draws on these experiences to show students how classroom topics link to real life, making abstract ideas more engaging. Zara also models how to plan work, break down complex tasks and meet deadlines, helping students develop effective study habits they can use across all their subjects.
Energetic Role Model with Team and Coaching Experience
Outside the classroom, Zara has competed at national level in basketball and is closely connected with coaching through her own team environment. She understands goal-setting, persistence and how to encourage young people when they feel stuck. In lessons, this tutor brings that same positive, team-focused energy—celebrating small wins, giving clear, respectful feedback and helping students bounce back from mistakes. Parents can expect a tutor who is organised, communicative and genuinely invested in each student’s progress.
