What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
What I enjoy most about tutoring is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives. I enjoy the moment when something finally clicks for a student, and seeing them move from a place of frustration to a place of understanding and confidence.
I also enjoy the challenge of adapting to suit each learner's style, and continuously finding ways to better my explanations in order to better support the student and leave a more profound impact upon them.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I think my greatest strengths as a tutor are my patience, my understanding, and my commitment to improvement.
I'm patient in guiding students through concepts and skills that they may struggle with. I ensure that I provide them with time and space to process ideas without being discouraged.
I'm also attentive and empathetic. I take care to see when a student struggles with a concept, adjusting my approach accordingly to be sure I can meet them at their level.
Finally, I'm always looking to refine my skills, whether that's through improving explanations, or exploring new teaching methods.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to act as a mentor, and a motivator.
A tutor should, assess a students' level, especially if they're falling behind, and identify how they learn best, so the support is truly effective.
With the student's needs understood, a tutor should provide the guidance and tools to assist students to navigate challenges just above their comfort zone.
Additionally, a tutor should be a motivator, instilling confidence in students and helping them to believe they are capable of overcoming the problems that they face.
