What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing a student's confidence grow. It's incredibly rewarding to watch that moment when a concept finally clicks and they realise they're capable of more than they thought. Being part of that progress, even in a small way, is what motivates me.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

One of my key strengths as a tutor is my ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, structured way. I'm patient, adaptable, and always willing to approach a problem from different angles until the student fully understands. I'm also highly organised, which helps me plan sessions that are focused, efficient, and tailored to each student's progress.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to clarify concepts, build confidence, and provide structure. It's not just about giving answers but guiding the student to understand the reasoning behind them. A good tutor helps students develop effective study habits, encourages them to think independently, and supports them in reaching their academic goals.

About Hanjun

High-achieving maths and science specialist

Hanjun is a high-performing maths and science student, with more than 90% in advanced mathematics, extension mathematics and chemistry, and a strong result in English. Now studying a combined degree in Vision Science and Clinical Optometry, he brings fresh, in-depth subject knowledge to every lesson. This tutor understands the pressure of selective tests and final exams and uses that experience to show students exactly how to think through challenging questions, not just memorise answers.

Proven tutoring experience from primary to senior years

With several years of tutoring experience, Hanjun has worked with students from Year 3 through to Year 12. He has prepared primary students for selective school exams by creating tailored practice questions on the spot to target their weak areas, and has guided senior students towards strong exam performance with carefully prepared study notes and practice sets. This tutor is patient, methodical and used to explaining tricky ideas in ways that make sense to younger learners and teenagers alike.

Personalised, exam-focused and confidence-building approach

Hanjun’s sessions focus on identifying specific gaps, then building skills step by step so students feel more confident and independent. For selective and senior exam students, he breaks down complex problems, models how to structure full-mark responses and provides original practice questions that mirror real exam difficulty. For younger students, he mixes clear explanations with plenty of guided practice so they feel comfortable asking questions. Parents can expect regular feedback and lessons that are calm, structured and results-focused.
