About Jimmy
Qualified Primary Teacher with Strong English and Maths Focus
Jimmy is a qualified primary teacher with a Bachelor of Education (Primary) and a postgraduate certificate in TESOL, giving him a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy and language support. He understands how children learn at different stages and uses diagnostic, formative and summative assessment to pinpoint exactly where support is needed. His background in second language teaching means he explains concepts clearly and in multiple ways, which is especially helpful for students who find English challenging or who speak more than one language at home.
Real Classroom and Tutoring Experience Across Primary and High School
This tutor brings together classroom experience and targeted tutoring. Jimmy has supported classes at both preparatory and upper primary levels, assisting with behaviour management and adapting lessons for different abilities. In his current tutoring role, he works one-on-one and in small groups with primary and high school students in English and mathematics, both online and in-person. He is used to helping students prepare for school assessments, build core skills and regain confidence when they have fallen behind.

Jimmy’s approach is practical, calm and student-centred.
