What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love teaching others the many things I've learnt myself. sharing knowledge and confidence academically , while creating a welcoming and safe environment allows me to develop to their full potential. the satisfaction of seeing students smile once they understand a topic is something that I Strive for. I enjoy creating new an innovative ways to help those who may also learn differently as I did struggle myself with the traditional ways of studying.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I think my strengths include being optimistic and always encouraging my students to do their best. I want them to build confidence in their ability, without doubting themselves as I believe that it will lead them to be the high achievers they can be I am able to tutor students in English, modern history and maths; making me capable to teach students of many strengths as well.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I think the most important thing a tutor could do, is to always be there for their students. there are days where it can be hard to learn or the topic won't stick to a student, possibly making them feel sad and unmotivated even. I feel like a tutor must always try to uplift a student's emotions and spirits, creating an environment where they can feel safe and unafraid to ask questions and express their feelings

About ephrata

Early Literacy Mentor with Real Classroom Experience

Ephrata already has hands-on experience supporting younger students with reading and writing through a school-based β€œsleepy readers” club. She worked with children in Years 2–4, helping them sound out words, build sentences, and create their own stories and poems. This tutor understands how to keep primary students engaged by turning reading into a relaxed, fun activity rather than a chore. She brings patience, encouragement and clear explanations to every session, helping nervous readers gain confidence.

Confident Communicator Who Connects with Kids

Through extensive customer-facing roles and regular volunteering at charity events, Ephrata has developed strong communication skills and a natural ability to make children feel at ease. She has run face-painting and balloon-animal stalls at school fundraisers, chatting with kids, managing queues and handling donations responsibly. This tutor uses those same people skills in lessons, breaking concepts into simple steps, asking the right questions, and making sure students feel heard and supported while they learn.

Organised, Tech-Savvy and Bilingual Support

Ephrata is a bilingual English and Amharic speaker, which can be especially helpful for students from multilingual households or those still building English confidence. Her exposure to robotics and cybersecurity workshops shows she is comfortable with technology and quick to learn new tools, including online learning platforms. She is used to balancing school, work and volunteering, so she brings strong organisation and time-management skills to tutoring. This tutor plans sessions carefully, follows through on goals, and helps students build good study habits.
