What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I like having an impact on people. I went through school and I learnt so much, but the majority of that knowledge doesn't get used in my day to day life. If I can pass down some of that information then it was worth something to someone.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I studied specialist maths core and options so double maths at narrabundah college in canberra. This is a very competitive school. On the other hand I don't particularly like studying. Despite this I still got through 2 years of those courses, taught myself how to study, and competed with my peers who seemed like they were years ahead of me. I have experience both being in a competitive environment but also the perspective of most kids and can teach them how to overcome all of the hurdles they may face in their education.
Most important things I can do for a student π
There are a few but I think the point of a tutor is for reinforcement. There is no way that a tutor will be able to pump out as much content as a student will be able to consume from traditional school, however with the 1 on 1 nature of tuition, tutors can take topics a lot further than a teacher would for an entire class. Not only this, a tutor is able to give their student individual confidence. So I think the most important thing would be: reinforcing what a student learnt at school and giving them confidence.
