What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐Ÿ˜

I would enjoy most helping others to succeed, as I find great fulfilment in allowing and pushing young people to reach their potential and achieve their goals.

My Strengths as Tutor ๐Ÿ’ช

I've previously worked as a coach, in which I found that I was skilled in effectively adapting teaching techniques to suit the kids and was able to help them develop their skills and overcome obstacles over time.

Most important things I can do for a student ๐Ÿ…

I think that the most important things a tutor can do for a student is have faith in their abilities and have both adaptability and consistency. A good tutor should be flexible in their teaching techniques for each student, and recognise that individuals learn differently. They should also maintain consistency in certain practices once they find what works for each student, allowing the student to build on particular skills over time.

About Mair

Young High-Achieving Tutor Who Relates to Students

Mair is a recent high school graduate with a strong academic record, recognised with an Academic Excellence Award for consistently achieving results above 90%. As someone who has just completed school herself, she understands current classroom expectations, assessment styles and the pressures students face. This tutor brings fresh knowledge of Maths and English content, along with study and exam strategies that actually work in todayโ€™s classrooms. Parents can expect a tutor who is both academically capable and genuinely in touch with what their child is experiencing at school.

Coaching Experience and Clear Communication

Mair has hands-on coaching experience as a netball coach for under 13s, where she regularly breaks down skills into simple steps, manages group dynamics and keeps younger students engaged. This background translates directly into her tutoring style: clear explanations, structured practice and lots of encouragement. She uses questioning and feedback to help students think for themselves, not just memorise answers. Her experience working with younger players means she is patient, calm under pressure and confident guiding shy or anxious learners.

Confident Communicator and Critical Thinker

Through debate club, Mair has developed strong skills in argument construction, critical thinking and persuasive speaking, which she brings into English tutoring, particularly for essays, speeches and comprehension. Her involvement in community and charity clubs shows she is responsible, empathetic and comfortable working with a wide range of personalities. Mair focuses on building studentsโ€™ confidence as well as their marks, helping them set realistic goals, organise their workload and develop problem-solving strategies they can apply across all subjects.
