What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
-Adapting my teaching style to cater to individuals with different learning needs/ levels of knowledge/ of different ages.
-Working to instil confidence and self-belief in students who believe they perform poorly in a specific subject area. Watching them grow in confidence as they acquire new knowledge.
-Helping students to improve their knowledge in a certain subject area. Watching them surpass expectations.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
-Good communication skills. I adopt a very personalised and encouraging approach to tutoring. Students have different abilities/ levels of knowledge, and I seek to improve on what students already know.
-I am very passionate about teaching maths, english, and science. In my spare time I love to write essays. I undertook a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, and studied chemistry, biology, physiology, and anatomy at university and maintained a high distinction average throughout my course. I am now studying a Doctor of Medicine. I seek to utilise my own passion for ongoing learning, to help me be the best tutor I can be.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
-To identify a student's knowledge gaps, and to subsequently help the student learn something new. This requires the tutor to build on what the student already knows.
-To break difficult concepts/ problems down into more simple parts, to facilitate easier learning for the student. To explain difficult concepts into layman's terms.
-To help teach students to approach problems from multiple angles, and encourage depth in learning, rather than superficial learning. This means showing how new knowledge relates to/ builds on pre-existing knowledge.
