What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students have 'aha moments' when they finally understand a complex concept. I myself struggled with difficult maths and scientific concepts as a kid and know how discouraging/demotivating it can be. My tutors genuinely helped me through it, and I want to pass it on. I think it's really rewarding to build students' confidence in subjects that they previously struggled with. I have helped students succeed in subjects like maths, physics, and chemistry, and it brought me genuine satisfaction and a sense of putting my knowledge to good use.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I am patient, non-judgemental, and someone who is able to break complex problems into simple and easily understandable steps. I would consider these my biggest strengths. I understand that each student is different, and someone might find a topic easily understood by others quite difficult. I have learnt to adapt my teaching style to each student's learning pace and build their confidence rather than just focusing on getting right answers. Also, my engineering background has equipped me with a strong foundation in maths and science, and the ability to explain topics at different levels.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Asking questions is essential when learning and can be the difference between a student succeeding or failing in a subject. So, the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students are comfortable enough to ask questions. Moreover, I think a good tutor should identify gaps in understanding and address them patiently, rather than just rushing through topics. At the end of the day, it is all about building the student's confidence and helping them believe they can succeed, no matter how difficult that exam seems.
